Dr. Christine completed her first mini-triathlon at Bonelli Park this September. This event consisted of a 1/4 mile swim, 10 mile bike ride, and a 3 mile run.

In addition to doing the race, Dr. Christine still had nursing duties for our 5 month old, Dylan.

Dr. Adrian, along with 6 other fire fighters represented SPFD’s Highrise Heroes. This event consisted of a full gear (around 50 pounds) climb of the U. S. Bank building. which is 75 floors. This is the tallest building in the west coast, and there was no air conditioning in the corridors. It was one of the hottest days of summer-95 degrees in Downtown Los Angeles when we started the event. Dr. Adrian finished in 24 minutes!

FCCSP attended the Pasadena Rose Bowl first annual MUD RUN this August. Dr. Adrian, Dr. Christine, Isela and Dianna ran through mud and car tires, jumped over numerous parking blocks, and crawled through occasional gravel filled mud pools.

Also in August 2010, FCCSP held a booth at the South Pas Farmer’s Market along with the Sheriff Dept., Red Cross, and Bellini Children’s store.

FCCSP conducted a Backpack Weigh Station to help parents determine how to properly fit their children for backpack size, and weight.

FYI, backpacks should weigh no more than 15% of your child’s body weight.
